WLUSA Cancels 2020 National Tournament

The Wheelchair Lacrosse USA board of directors voted unanimously to cancel the event in order to protect our athletes and communities.

In an effort to help mitigate the potential effects of the coronavirus (COVID-19) public health threat, WLUSA is canceling the 2020 National Tournament. The board of directors concluded that it would not be appropriate to ask teams to attend this event in view of the current circumstances. This decision was not taken lightly and the board made every effort to salvage the tournament. However, at this point, we feel a responsibility to notify our members of this decision in order to remove any uncertainty surrounding the 2020 season. WLUSA thanks the San Diego Rolling Seals for organizing the 2020 tournament and we look forward to working with our members to schedule safe, successful events in 2021.

Wheelchair Lacrosse USA strongly encourages member organizations to follow all state and local guidelines when considering a return to practice. We urge individuals and member teams to contact their local healthcare providers and public health authorities if they have questions or concerns regarding individual medical advice. Given the fluid nature of this situation, WLUSA will continue to monitor information from the CDC, as well as state and local public health authorities, and will share any updates that relate directly to the wheelchair lacrosse community.
